History of Alameda Aerie

Early in 1905, a petition was sent to the Grand Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for the institution of an Eagle Aerie in the City of Alameda.

The petition was granted on May 16, 1905 and on July 15, 1905 Alameda Aerie became the 1076th aerie to be established. The Grand Worthy President J. F. Pelletie and Grand Secretary A. T. Partridge along with seventy-nine (79) charter members signed the Charter. The First Jr. Past President was Fred J. Croll and the First Worthy President was Ernest J. Probst.

In the early days the meetings were held at the Wigwam Hall on Webster Street. Then for a while they were held in the Woodman Hall on Park Street.

The present Eagle Hall at 2305 Alameda Ave was financed by building stocks which were sold for $10.00 each. The building was dedicated on May 16, 1914, exactly nine years after the charter was granted.
